For anyone who has an Four Wheel Pop-up Camper and contemplating attending one of these events, I say you need to check it out at least once. It was such a great weekend connecting and learning from and with other FWC owners. Everyone was so generous, especially our ‘next door’ neighbors who shared their extra tent stakes with us for our canopy (thanks Piggy’s parents, John and Linda 😊). And shout out to @2nutsinafwc and @kp.pawley – very cool people we got a chance to get to know during this weekend.
We got to meet others with shell models like ours and see their DIY projects and camper hacks. We now have some great ideas for building out our camper; which include building a sink, shelving, and a counter (we will post as we build these out). And of course let us dream about our future flat bed Grandby. We also got to talk to folks who have some amazing cross country overlanding and off-roading stories. Plus, as a bonus they had a mini seminar on satellite communicators (PBLs and satellite phones). The food was delicious and abundant, the wine and beer was bottomless, they had a fire going each night, and live music on the last night. Highly recommend checking it out!

Trip logistics:
On our way to Beckwourth, we drove through the Tahoe National Forest, which we definitely plan to come back to. We made a pit stop in Auburn for gas (cheapest gas around and it went up from there) and to grab fresh baked bread to make sandwiches during the trip. We found a place called Flour Garden Bakery, where we got a fresh baked loaf and also picked up a snail pastry which was out of this world delicious.
